Safety and environmental company Pyroban will re-enforce its safety message during two seminars at the Birmingham NEC, 13th and 15th March 2007 (during IMHX).

The free seminars are specifically designed for companies using and maintaining explosion proof materials handling equipment and to introduce them to the EX-ASA, an explosion proof annual safety audit.

Pyroban helps companies manage their risk of explosion by preventing industrial equipment being the source of ignition in hazardous areas.

Equipment leaves the Pyroban factory safe and suitable for the demanding industrial environment, but it must be managed and maintained correctly to ensure that it continues to be safe and does not itself become a source of ignition.

By now, DSEAR should be firmly established into all organisations that store or handle flammable materials such as paints, inks, chemicals, alcohols, powders, aerosols etc.

Most end users sign contracts with their materials handling supplier and expect that the truck will comply with UK and European legislation and be maintained correctly.

In some cases, all responsibility is then passed over to the supplier for the life-time of the vehicle.

It is at this point that companies should consider an independent annual audit (EX-ASA) to ensure that the safety is being maintained.

Darren Boiling, Customer Service Manager for Pyroban in the South of England explains: "There are three simple steps to ensure good practice and maintain compliance under DSEAR.

Firstly, use engineers who are trained on the Pyroban system, then, follow the recommended service schedules and lastly carry out an EX-ASA which is an independent annual inspection, like an MOT, in line with GN28, the fork truck annual inspection".

Pyroban will be discussing maintenance and the correct management of explosion proof materials handling fleets in depth at a series of free seminars at the NEC on 13th and 15th March 2007.

The seminars are focused on the end user but are equally suited to suppliers requiring a greater understanding of their customers.

The seminars will run for 30 minutes from 1200 GMT during the IMHX Exhibition, and booking is recommended.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to view the latest technology used in the Pyroban systems on the Pyroban stand and enjoy a warm welcome with hospitality and the opportunity to talk directly to Pyroban specialists.
