Long range for PZT steering mirror
Polytec PI, NanoPositioning Group, has released what it claims to be the world's longest-range high-speed PZT-driven two-axis mirror scanner.
The compact unit is a design breakthrough in linear piezo motor drive technology.
It provides 20mm travel range with 0.1um resolution, 200m/s2 acceleration and 600mm/s velocity in an package smaller than a 9V block battery.
The linear motor drive is based on a novel ultrasonic piezoceramic actuator manufactured at PI Ceramic (Physik Instrumente's subsidiary, specialising in PZT ceramic materials).
For ease of operation, the M-663 translation stage comes complete with motor driver and cables.
It can be controlled by any PID servo controller from PI or other suppliers such as National Instruments or Galil.
An OEM electronics board is available, too. Request a free brochure from PI (Physik Instrumente) ...
