The new piezoceramic actuators and custom subassemblies catalogue from PI's piezoceramic division PI Ceramic is now available.
It features precision actuators and components with hundreds of standard and custom models said PI.
The company said that the 50-page catalogue acts as a reference book on the fundamentals of piezo actuators and their applications in today's high-tech fields from semiconductor technology to aerospace engineering.
In addition to the products, specifications and drawings, a tutorial explains the basics of piezo actuators and how to get most out of the technology.
The following products groups are featured: low voltage PICMA ceramic insulated multilayer actuators; PICMA chip mini-actuators; multi-axis shear actuators; high-force stack actuators; multilayer bender actuators; high force tubular stack actuators and scanner tube actuators.
The company added that piezo actuators provide motion with subnanometre precision and submillisecond response.
They are mainly used in the following industries: semiconductor test and metrology; data storage; photonics alignment and packaging; medical analytical equipment; bio-technology, life sciences, microdispensing applications; optics, lasers and interferometry; scanning microscopy; micromanufacturing; aerospace and precision machining.
