precision
The V-106 QuickScan series of PCI-card-driven, high-speed voice coil positioning stages provides up to 20mm of travel and resolution to 100nm.
PI (Physik Instrumente) offers the V-106 QuickScan series of PCI-card-driven, high-speed voice coil positioning stages, providing up to 20mm of travel and resolution to 100nm These closed-loop stages were designed for high-dynamics precision motion control applications, like those in biotechnology; laser beam control; scanning; optics and lens finishing; and fibre optics

Long range for PZT steering mirror
Polytec PI, NanoPositioning Group, has released what it claims to be the world's longest-range high-speed PZT-driven two-axis mirror scanner.
QuickScan systems are driven by a PCIbus motion controller card with onboard linear servo amplifiers.
Based on a frictionless, backlash-free, voice coil linear motor drive and a high-precision optical encoder featuring 100nm resolution, the systems provide extremely smooth motion with velocities to 240mm/s.
V-106 QuickScan stages achieve significantly higher dynamics than leadscrew-based units, with scanning frequencies to 20Hz and above for small loads.
Another advantage of the frictionless voice coil drive is greater reliability and lifetime than screw-type drive mechanisms.
For high-throughput positioning applications, the short settling times, eg 75ms for 5mm step, are a real benefit. Request a free brochure from PI (Physik Instrumente) ...
