PI (Physik Instrumente) has published a new brochure detailing its precision miniature linear translation stages.

The brochure presents a variety of compact and subcompact positioning stages, featuring submicron to subnanometre precision and closed-loop position feedback with linear encoders and capacitive gauges.

Systems range from ballscrew-driven, palm-top sized stages with servo and stepper motors to thumbnail-sized piezo-motor driven stages for high-volume applications.

High-speed stages are available with voice-coil motors, ultrasonic motors and piezo flexure drives.

Nonmagnetic and vacuum-compatible versions are available as well.

These precision stages are designed for applications in fields such as: test and measurement, optics and photonics, biotechnology, aerospace, semiconductor metrology, precision motion control and microscopy.
