Ketron Peek composition chosen for baking system

A Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 22, 2010

The Ketron Peek food-compliant material from Quadrant has been specified to replace a series of noisy metal gears in an inline baking system.

The Ketron Peek composition can withstand the heat near the oven and maintain the necessary strength to drive the belt carrying the product.

Adding Ketron Peek to the system significantly reduced noise levels, while sacrificial parts reduced the likelihood of damage to the entire drive system.

The material provides high strength, excellent chemical resistance for frequent cleanings, strength at high temperatures and food contact compliance.

Quadrant's application development engineers even taste-tested the cookies to make sure all elements of the application were successful.

According to the company, Ketron Peek delivers excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption and good wear and abrasion resistance and is unaffected by continuous exposure to hot water or steam.
