Tracker keeps tabs on software mods

A Quality Systems International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 29, 2002

QSI has introduced remote bug tracking software that uses web technology to log, track and expedite the efficient resolution of software modifications as they arise.

Each LIMS is (or should be) unique, in that it is designed to reflect the user's specific needs and corporate environment.

This means that any software changes must be accurately tracked and recorded against that particular installation if audit trails and system integrity are to be maintained.

These changes could be functional or cosmetic modifications identified during the acceptance process, or fixes for software bugs that arise once the system is "live".

QSI, a leading LIMS supplier, has introduced remote bug tracking software that uses web technology to log, track and expedite the efficient resolution of software modifications as they arise.

Every step, from the initial logging of the bug by the user, through assignment to an individual for action, to the solution and final closure is recorded and automatically reported back to the user by e-mail.

The LIMS user can also interrogate the software to view progress and access information on his specific problem.

Not only is resolution of any specific problem speeded up, but QSI is able to centrally accumulate invaluable information that can be used to enhance system performance for this and other users.

When systems are "rolled out" for international corporate clients, global reporting can be set up, enabling truly global support.

All that is needed to use the Remote Bug Tracker is a browser and access to the web.

Clive Collier, Managing Director of QSI UK comments: "This bug tracking facility is typical of the attention to detail that has made QSI's track record of successful LIMS installations the best in the business".
