Website keeps track of prototype orders

A Quickparts product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 7, 2004

Advanced technology enables customers to track their order status and shipments, in real time, for all rapid prototyping projects.

Quickparts has deployed patent-pending advanced technology which enables customers to track their order status and shipments, in real time, for all rapid prototyping projects, including stereolithography (SLA), selective laser sintering (SLS) and fused deposition modelling (FDM), directly on Quickparts.com.

The new "check order status" feature is available for users immediately after logging in to Quickparts' proprietary QuickQuote system.

The order status is updated in real-time, providing customers a direct link to the shop floor.

All prototype orders placed in the previous 90 days are presented and sorted by quote code.

Once a project has shipped, Quickparts' customers have the ability to track FedEx and UPS shipments directly through the Quickparts order tracking system.

"Customers asked for it and we listened".

"By adding the new Order Status and shipment tracking feature, we have empowered our customers by providing them with the ability to learn the real-time status of their order, and track their shipment at the push of a button", said Mark Mackie, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Quickparts.

The new feature has been implemented for all rapid prototyping orders (SLA, SLS, FDM).

Quickparts plans to add similar functionality for cast urethanes, CNC machining, sheet metal prototypes, and quick-turn injection moulding later this year.
