Module speeds polyurethane cast parts quoting

A Quickparts product story

Instant quoting module for polyurethane cast parts eliminates the time users wait for quotes to be returned by vendors who use traditional approaches.

At the Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Show, Quickparts, the web-based manufacturer of rapid prototypes and build-to-order plastic and cast metal parts, released Polyquote 1.0, the instant quoting module for polyurethane cast parts.

The manufacture of build-to-order polyurethane castings involves the manufacture and finishing of a stereolithography master pattern, an RTV rubber core and cavity tool set, and individual polyurethane castings of each part in a project.

Polyquote considers all these manufacturing steps when calculating an instantaneous, binding quote for a given selected 3D CAD database.

It streamlines the user's RFQ process by eliminating all the time the user waits for quotes to be returned by vendors who quote using traditional approaches.

Buyers typically wait from two to five days for the return of quotes for complex polyurethane casting projects.

The software reduces that time down to a few seconds by providing instantaneous quotes for polyurethane casting projects, including multiple part, multiple material and multiple quantity projects.

This is the latest upgrade to Quickparts' instant online quoting technology and is available as a module inside the current release of Myquote software.

Myquote allows non-internet buyers of build-to-order parts and rapid prototypes to experience the benefits of the the firm's instant quoting engine, called Quickquote, including instantaneous quotes, unlimited what-if scenario quotes, automatic customised PO and related document creation, and elimination of the typical wait time for traditional RFQs.

"Polyquote 1.0 represents the latest offering from Quickparts in the continuous development of instantaneous quoting technologies", said Ronald Hollis, President of Quickparts.

"Polyquote is a significant addition to our patent-pending instantaneous quoting technologies because this module considers the manufacture of tooling, the amortisation of the tool and the manufacture of parts from the tools as part of the quoting algorithm".

"The intelligence in the analysis of the users 3D CAD geometry input has reached a new level, and represents a building block for future instantaneous quoting modules".
