Online quoting improved to customer requests

A Quickparts product story

Enhancements in online quoting technology are customer requested to make the process of getting instantaneous quotes better and more in line with the typical customer procurement process.

At National Manufacturing Week, Quickparts released Quickquote 2.0, an upgrade to its instant online quoting technology.

Quickquote is server-side software that provides the registered user of the web site with instantaneous, customised, binding quotes for rapid prototypes and other build-to-order manufacturing projects directly from the user's uploaded 3D CAD models.

The enhancements in version 2.0 are all customer requested to make the process of getting instantaneous quotes better and more in line with the typical customer procurement process.

The improvements also serve to enable real-time communication and collaboration between the customer and the Quickparts customer support team.

Version 2.0 includes support for the upload of zip files that contain any type of project related documentation, from 3D CAD STL files to process documents to BOM spreadsheets, for consideration by the instant quoting engine.

Since Quickquote can provide instant quotes for the outsource of an unlimited number of parts that make up a customer's project, customers asked for the ability to pack all project part files into a single zip file for a streamlined upload.

The version also includes a capability for customers to chat live and collaborate with Quickparts' customer advocates and project managers.

This capability lets customers find out in real time on the web site decision-critical information, such as the current delivery schedule, directly from the project management team.

"We are fanatics about providing our customers with an evolving instant online quoting system that changes to meet the needs of our customers", said Ronald Hollis, President of Quickparts.

"In a nutshell, our customers ask and we deliver".

"This upgrade represents a quantum leap in capability that far exceeds the improvements we make to our unique web-based offering on a daily basis".

"The zip file upload is a huge development, especially to our customers who look to us to manufacture the prototypes of their complete, complex, multi-part assemblies".

"The live chat and collaboration enables our customers to contact my team in real-time when they need us, when they are in the process of quoting a project".
