The latest developments in process modelling for metallic systems will be the focus of a one-day conference on 24 March, 2004, at Qinetiq, Farnborough, UK.

Materials Modelling: Concept to Component, which has been organised by IOM3 and sponsored by the National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) and Qinetiq, will look at how the increase in computing power has made modelling of rising importance to the industry.

Speakers will cover all of the steps from alloy development, through to material production and component performance.

It is particularly aimed at the sequence of development and production steps needed to produce hot-formed metallic alloys.

The conference should be of value to industrialists involved in manufacturing hot-formed metal components, and to academic staff and students wishing to learn about the latest developments in this sector of the manufacturing industry.

Charges are GBP150 for IOM3 members, GBP100 for non-members and GBP100 for students.
