UK-based producers of industry leading process and quality management software, QISoft, have acquired the process industry applications of Quaker Computer Solutions (QCS) of Savannah, Georgia.

QISoft has taken over Q-Log, Q-Lab, TrimTracker and Roll Q software products.

These programs will be modernised and integrated into QISoft's QIS product suite creating a comprehensive solution to meet the exacting requirements of leading process industries.

Prior to the merger, QISoft had already established itself as a major supplier to the process industry with installations in leading companies such as David S Smith, UK Paper and Arjo Wiggins helping to deliver major cost savings and quality improvements.

QCS products also have a strong following with users such as The Packaging Corporation of America, Durango and Inland Paper and Packaging.

"The acquisition means that existing users of the Quaker products have assured support and will see their systems develop.

The QIS product is also strengthened by the merger and our combined development, sales and technical support operations will be able to provide more effective customer support," explained QISoft managing director Kevin Luxton.
