The can profile analyser is a noncontact laser scanner, which allows companies to scan a beaded food can in order to verify that a can's profile is within specification The scanner can scan, using the noncontact laser scanner, a profile of a 25cm food can at 15um resolution

The scan duration is about 8s and produces about 15,000 separate measurements.

From these measurements, the system will be able to extrapolate measurement values for each bead and bead-group.

This includes the depth and width of each bead, the radius and width at the bottom of the bead as well as the symmetry of each bead.

In addition, the can's height and flange values are measured using this system.
