Hydraulic elevators place exacting demands on the fluid that powers them and Q8Oils' Handel hydraulic oil has passed all tests with flying colours.

The product's high-performance characteristics have seen Q8Oils' Handel adopted by a majority of the major elevator manufacturers and maintenance providers in the UK.

To a great extent the overall performance of a hydraulic elevator is very much down to the performance of its hydraulic fluid.

Although operating conditions can vary for virtually every movement of an individual elevator as ambient temperatures rise and fall within the building and the load carried constantly changes, the elevator must still perform with great accuracy in order to achieve perfect alignment as it comes to rest at each floor level.

It is the stability of Q8Oils' Handel under such operating conditions that makes it particularly suited to use with hydraulic lifts.

This product stability provides a more consistent operation in terms of response (ie acceleration and stopping) and thus means that the lift behaves consistently with less chance of over or under shooting the door stop position.

Q8Oils' Handel hydraulic oil also provides the high viscosity index or multigrade viscosity needed to cover the wide range of temperatures experienced in a lift shaft through the year.

In turn, this property removes the requirement for trace heaters, saving thousands of pounds in annual heating costs for building owners.

In common with all of Q8Oils' lubricant products, Handel is produced from the company's own Kuwaiti crude feedstock which provides base oils of particularly high purity.

Starting from an already superior product, Q8Oils then filters its hydraulic oils down to a maximum particle size of 3um compared with the industry standard 10um level, exceeding all performance requirements.

The purity of the Q8Oils' Handel product not only provides stability and a consistency of performance across a wide range of operating conditions, the lack of contaminants in the product also reduces wear on key components such as pistons and cylinders.

This helps cut down the amount of maintenance required and reduces the chance of performance being adversely affected by wear on components.

The high performance capability of Q8Oils' hydraulic products is very much down to the natural quality of the original Kuwaiti crude.

These natural characteristics also provide hidden benefits for the end user as they allow Q8Oils to provide a higher specification product without the price premium usually associated with such performance.
