QuadriSpace has released a Granite Import Module based on the PTC Granite Interoperability Kernel.

QuadriSpace, a leading provider of 3D publishing products, has released a Granite Import Module based on the PTC Granite Interoperability Kernel The Document3D line of products lets CAD users and downstream users easily leverage existing 3D models and 2D drawings to create technical illustrations, interactive web pages and complete printed and interactive documents

This latest addon to the Document3D line of products extends the ability to import solid models.

Pro/Engineer users can now import 3D CAD files directly and quickly create interactive and printed documents.

The new module also supports a variety of other 3D interchange formats such as STEP, IGES, VDA, SAT and Parasolid.

"PTC is proud to have QuadriSpace as a new licensee of our Granite Interoperability Kernel and a member of the PTC Partner community", stated Eric Tau, Product Manager, PTC.

"The Document3D product line provides valuable complementary capabilities to Pro/Engineer and PTC's Product Development System".

"Users will be able to extend the use of Pro/Engineer data into yet another area of product lifecycle management - easy 3D publishing".

"Integrating PTC Granite into our products was quick and flexible", stated Chad Mueller, Technical Director of QuadriSpace: "not only are we able to import critical visual properties and meta-data from Pro/Engineer, but the Granite Import Module's support for other formats lets us offer solutions to everyone with 3D CAD files".

By using 3D CAD tools for design and Document3D for documentation, companies can leverage a powerful combination that results in shorter design cycles and up-to-date product documentation.

Additionally, as designs change, outdated documents can be updated by simply importing the revised design into the documents.

Document3D simplifies the creation of documents from 3D designs and provides an easy transition from print to interactive 3D documentation.

The resulting documents can provide time-saving solutions for Engineering documents, assembly instructions, service and operational procedures, product demonstrations, training manuals and sales presentations.
