High intensity rare earth magnetic filtration unit removes submicron metallic particles from a wide range of fluid applications.

Avaialble from QSCD and fulfilling several components of an effective fluid management programme is the Micromag, a high intensity rare earth magnetic filtration unit which removes submicron metallic particles from a wide range of fluid applications.

The Micromag's unique features are designed to complement or replace a machine tools existing filtration unit.

With a service life of up to 50 years the Micromag is a cost effective one off purchase as there are no "oil sodden" filter cartridges to replace, or dispose of, and no consumable wear parts.

Due to the patent pending magnetic circuit design no drop in fluid pressure or loss of fluid flow will occur when the Micromag units filter capacity is reached.

The units have a clear filter housing so the level of contamination captured can be easily seen and swarf removal is achieved in less than 1 minute with a near dry, cake type waste produced with minimal fluid contamination.

By removing submicron metallic components operator safety is increased by the removal of particles which otherwise may enter the atmosphere within the coolant mist and the risk of skin abrasion is reduced.

Tool life can be expected to increased with the risk of poor surface finish on final or critical operations reduced by removing the submicron particles which could flow into the tool/workpiece interface.

Metalworknig fluid life can be prolonged as the Micromag will not "strip out" additive packages of metalworking fluids as is the potential with other fine filtration media and the submicron filtering capacity reduces the risk of bacterial development through the restriction of build up of fines in the sump.
