The QTERM-G70 graphics terminal is being used as a remote graphics information display to help produce high-quality dashboards for prestigious high-performance sports vehicles.

Modern motor vehicle dashboards provide a wealth of information, while their quality and style set the ambience for the motoring experience.

The QTERM-G70 graphics terminal from QSI Europe is being used as a remote graphics information display to help produce high quality dashboards for one of the world's most prestigious, high performance sports vehicles.

This HMI terminal has been specified by Bytronic as part of its assembly line information suite, designed to eliminate build errors for tier 1 automotive suppliers.

With a single PC used to control a number of workstations, the QTERM-G70 provides instructions for operators at the point of assembly, so avoiding the need for time-wasting reference trips to the main controller.

This locally sited terminal provides visual instruction sheets on the build procedures, with information updated by National Instruments LabView software.

Picking wrong components or fitting wrong colours can be eliminated, saving on time, money and supplier reputations, with the Bytronic equipment seamlessly integrated into production lines to provide complete assembly information systems.

Stewart Jackson, Test and Measurement Manager of Bytronic quotes: "The QTERM-G70 was chosen because of the excellent graphics quality, together with flexibility and general usability of the unit which was far superior to standard HMI equipment on the market".

"It also fitted our remit for supplying only the best for a market where zero defeat and the elimination of mistakes is a primary target".

The QTERM-G70 is an Ethernet-enabled graphics terminal with object based programming.

It is provided with its own programming language - Qlarity (pronounced clarity) - and programming tool called Qlarity Foundry for MS windows.

It features a transparent touch screen over a viewable display area of 320 x 240 pixel with a 114 x 86mm "live area" for QVGA 256 colour display with 16 shade greyscale option.

The glass-filled polyester housing is ruggedised and has a NEMA 4 sealing for harsh industrial environments.

It has an operating temperature rating of -10 to +60C with up to 95% noncondensing humidity.

It is supplied as standard with EIA232 serial port with hardware or software handshaking (1200-115,200 baud), with optional configurable primary and secondary EIA232, EIA422 or EIA485 serial ports.
