The organisers of The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are making a final call for more entries from the engineering and manufacturing sectors before the application deadline of 31st October 2003.

The organisers of The Queen's Awards for Enterprise - the UK's highest honour for business success - are making a final call for more entries from the engineering and manufacturing sectors before the rapidly approaching application deadline of 31st October 2003.

Stephen Brice, Acting Secretary of The Queen's Awards Office, believes many successful engineering and manufacturing companies could miss out on the chance for Royal recognition unless they act quickly: "Although we have received some good applications, I am convinced there are many more companies from the engineering and manufacturing sectors who would be prime candidates for a Queen's Award", says Brice.

"I urge them to apply for an Award and receive the recognition they deserve.

There is no entry fee, and no limit to the number of Awards that can be made each year, yet the benefits of winning are significant and wide-ranging".

Those benefits include significant positive press coverage, boosts to staff morale, the right to use the coveted Queen's Awards Emblem and raised profile in the marketplace - factors of genuine value to businesses of any size.

If an application is unsuccessful the companies will receive detailed feedback about the strengths and weaknesses of an application that might enable them to apply successfully another time.

Queen's Awards are made in three categories - International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.

Any UK-based business unit with two or more employees can enter.
