QCL's new 3000 series is a ruggedised panel PC intended for industrial applications, based on a standard single board computer with disk on chip and watchdog facilities

QCL (Quick Controls Ltd) has launched the latest addition to its all-in-one PC range.

The new 3000 series is a ruggedised panel PC intended for industrial applications and is based on a standard single board computer, which incorporates disk on chip and watchdog facilities.

The main feature of this new system is the independence of the display from the PC panel.

When directly connected the panel represents a slim fully featured computer system with CD ROM and multimedia capability.

The display and the computer can be separated and connected via a direct cable with a maximum length of 500mm.

Alternatively, by using the optional LVDS cards the separation distance can be increased by up to 10 metres.

The ability to divide the unit in two parts allows the panel to be mounted where space is limited and still offers a full PC capability.

Various bezel arrangements are available and the unit can either be panel or rack mounted, and complies with the requirements of IP 65 when sealed using gaskets supplied.

The standard unit provides a Pentium III 850 MHz processor with 128 MB SDRAM and a 40GB hard drive.

The optional resistive touch screen is a QCL proprietary part and is guaranteed for in excess of 10 million operations.

Custom cases can be designed and manufactured by QCL to incorporate the panel and this service is available as part of the full project management service on offer from the Company.

QCL has touch screen browser application software, which will provide a fast and robust solution for Intranet browsing by none PC users.

Touch screen driver firmware for the most popular operating systems is also provided.

QCL have been supplying touch screen computers for more than 15 years and currently have more than 50,000 installed systems throughout the world.

The company has been ISO 9000 registered since 1994 and all products are CE compliant.
