QuickControl's Initialisation Wizard will now initialise a SilverDust servo controller to servo a third party stepper motor by entering the motor's current, resistance, inductance and maximum torque.

QuickSilver Controls has released a new version of the QuickControl application development software.

QuickControl now supports the entertainment industry's DMX512 protocol.

The DMX512 protocol allows a master show controller to stream serial show data to all equipment in a scene to dim lights and move QuickSilver's industrial servomotors.

QuickControl's Initialisation Wizard will now initialise a SilverDust servo controller to servo a third-party stepper motor by entering the motor's current, resistance, inductance and maximum torque, which are found in most stepper motor catalogues.

If closed loop (servo) operation is not required, the controller can be configured to drive the motor open loop.

Similarly, a linear step motor can be configured for servo or open loop operation.

The SilverDust's electronic gearing function has been improved to allow gear ratios of up to seven decimal places using the new EGM command or integer ratios ranging from 1:32767 to 32767:1 using the improved RSD command.

QuickControl is now able to download and debug programs using the standard Modbus protocol.

Allows QuickControl to monitor a communications line for any read register commands for the selected register watches.

This is useful when some other host is controlling the servo and the user wants to use QuickControl to monitor traffic.
