The National Business Awards regional programme that is sponsored by Orange and recognises and rewards excellence, innovation and success is now open for entries.

Uniquely open to organisations of all sizes and from any industry sector - public or private, companies from across the country are now being invited to take part in five regional heats: North West England, North East England, South East England, Midlands and East England and Wales and the West Country.

The closing date for entries is Thursday 22 March 2007.

Made up of ten categories, short listed finalists will be announced in early April before preparing to make their presentations in person before an independent, expert judging panel in May.

Winners will be unveiled at three glittering gala awards evenings throughout July.

Regional winners will then have the chance to go on and compete against other organisations from all over the country in The National Business Awards, which will be announced in November.

The categories are: O The 3i Growth Strategy of the Year Award O The AXA Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year Award O The Business Innovation of the Year Award O The Cable and Wireless Award for Customer Focus O The City and Guilds Employer of the Year Award O The CMS Cameron McKenna Business of the Year Award O The Corporate Social Responsibility Award O The Credit Suisse Entrepreneur of the Year Award O The Health and Safety Award O The Orange Best Use of Technology in Business Award 2006 regional winners included: Martek Marine, Farmhouse Fare, BaxterStorey, BigBarn and Principality Building Society.
