Radiatron has an industrial version of the industry-standard RJ45 Ethernet connector.

Manufactured by Yamaichi, the Y-Con RJ45 uses high-temperature materials to withstand harsh environments, offers an IP67 rating and has integrated power connections to avoid the need for additional power cables.

The connector is designed for Cat5 100Mbit/s Ethernet applications.

PBT, UL94V0-rated material is used to provide an operating temperature range of -40 to +120C, adequate for even the most demanding industrial applications.

IP67 sealing has been achieved using moulded seals, added during manufacture, to ensure the best possible seal in all environments.

The stability of the housing design has been tested to shock and vibration levels of 50g.

Additional 1.5A power contacts are located either side of the latching area.

This means that power can be transmitted through a single sealed interface without other costly cable runs.

Complementary Yamaichi mating jacks have been designed to accept the extra power contacts.

They are available in 90- and 180-degree angles for OEM board assembly, or wire breakout versions including terminal block, PCB pad, back-to-back jack and feedthrough.

In clean areas, or where secondary environmental protection is already present, the IP67 rated plug can be substituted for an IP20 rated version.

When mated to a jack without a sealing flange this provides a cost effective solution.

A three-step multifunction crimp tool simplifies field installation and the connectors can also be supplied in kit form as individual parts or as parts of complete, tested cable assemblies.
