Rayconnect fluid connectors prevent freezing

A Rayconnect Inc. product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 14, 2009

Rayconnect is introducing a range of self-heating fluid connectors for integration into truck-pollutant removal systems.

These connectors will assist in keeping the tubing above -11C to prevent the urea-based fluid used in the Selective Catalytic Reduction process from freezing.

Rayconnect will be exhibiting at the SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress and Exhibition in Rosemont on October 6 and 7 2009, as part of the Truck Tech France Pavilion.

Rayconnect engineers are developing the best compromise in terms of the energy consumed by these connectors, which have a power supply and are heated by a thermistor.

The goal is to minimise energy consumption and reduce the circuit-heating time in order to offer a more economical alternative than externally heated connector systems proposed by competitors.
