Contractors can choose the three test instruments in the kit that cover the requirements of their work.

The Robin 16th Edition test kits all include an insulation/continuity tester, a loop impedance tester and an RCD tester.

Each test kit comes in a customised, durable, hard plastic case together with all necessary test leads and a set of completion and inspection certificates reproduced from the IEE Wiring Regulations.

The selection from four insulation/continuity testers is from the Robin KMP 3000 digital and K 3100 analogue Series.

While all insulation/continuity testers offer two continuity ranges, lock-down test buttons for time-saving continuous operation, and easy-to-read scales, the choice includes three voltage ranges or just one, and a test lead auto-null feature.

The earth lead impedance tester choice is from the three digital meters in the KMP 4100 Series.

They provide accurate measurements of earth loop impedance at the origin and at various points throughout an installation.

Two models directly measure prospective short circuit current with automatic power factor correction.

The top of the range KMP 4120DL is the only tester of its type able to perform loop tests without tripping most passive RCDs.

The third meter in each kit is the microprocessor-driven Robin KMP 5404DL RCD tester.

This tests the operation of delayed and nondelayed RCDs in accordance with BS7671.

Features include preselectable tripping current ranges, indication of correct wiring status and a tripping time resolution of 1ms.

It also features a phase angle selector for positive or negative half cycle testing, and a lock-down button for ease of use.

While each kit comes in a KP 1650 impact resistant moulded carrying case, a Robin KP 1600 soft case can be purchased separately for use in less demanding environments.

Robin also supplies separate notepads of all the test documentation required by BS7671.
