A new interactive tutorial CD explains the functions and capabilities of the Robin SmartPAT 5500 portable appliance tester.

Designed as a self-help introduction to the PAT tester, the tutorial also explains how to download test results to a PC to produce professional reports.

The Robin SmartPAT 5500 Interactive Tutorial CD guides the user through four main sections - controls, setting up, selecting auto tests and downloading.

Each part of the control panel can be interrogated to identify its function, and the user can selectively step through the setting up and testing procedures with explanatory captions at each stage.

Up to 1000 test records can be stored in onboard memory on the SmartPAT 5500.

The downloading section of the CD explains how this stored data can be transferred to a PC in order to write professional reports and compare previous results, using PowerPAT Plus Software.

The SmartPAT 5500 performs all the portable appliance tests prescribed by the Health and Safety Executive, including earth bond, insulation, fuse continuity, run/leakage and flash voltage.

It is preloaded with all of the most common test sequences for Class I and Class II appliances, saving time on site.

It can also be user programmed so that specific test sequences can be set up and stored for particular appliance conditions.

The SmartPAT 5500 CD is priced at GBP 9.99 or comes free with a purchase of the SmartPAT 5500.
