E-procurement improves purchasing efficiency
RS Components has launched PurchasingManager, a novel e-procurement service it reckons will improve purchasing efficiency and control while delivering immediate cost savings.
The ATEX 137 directive, which is enforced by DSEAR, legislates on how any premises with explosive atmospheres should be classified and operated and is controlled by the Health and Safety Executive.
It doesn't just affect refineries, but anywhere with a potential explosive atmosphere, such as sanding, solvents, paints and welding environments, with employers having to ensure that they comply with the minimum requirements no later than 30th June 2006.
With time running out, feedback from customers suggests that there are still a large number of businesses struggling to meet the deadline.
Through its new updated website, RS is helping to ease the headache of sourcing ATEX approved equipment with its online category-by-category listing of over 600 ATEX approved products from its entire electrical and mechanical portfolio.
Beyond just sourcing ATEX products, RS is also helping customers understand the requirements DSEAR with information about the regulations and who is affected.
Customers can also cut through the confusion of terminology by looking up key terms in the online ATEX jargon buster.
