Power transmission catalogue

A Robert Cupitt product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 18, 2001

A comprehensive new catalogue featuring a wide range of brakes, gear drives and clutches has been produced by Tol-O-Matic, and is now available from Robert Cupitt, sole distributor for the UK

Robert Cupitt has been supplying Tol-O-Matic power transmission products for many years during which the well-proven design and engineering of the range has been continuously developed for versatility and performance.

The unique 'Float-A-Shaft' right-angle gear drive provides a compact solution with two 45deg helical gears that mesh at right angles and are enclosed by a lightweight aluminium housing.

The 'float' enables the shafts to slide axially while maintaining drive, or provides for adjustment with minimal downtime - unlike exposed chain sprocket drives that require additional adjustment.

Over 400 models of mechanical, pneumatic and spring applied brakes are featured in the catalogue, covering an extensive range of applications including packaging, wrapping, filling and food processing machinery, CNC machine tools, and in jigs and fixtures where, in many instances, the brake is used to hold the fixture in place while operations are carried out.

Adam and Disc Cone clutches are used in numerous types of application including packaging, bottling, filling and lightweight conveyor systems, often in conjunction with disc brakes and Float-A-Shaft drives for complete control of power transmission in machines and in automated assembly lines.

The new catalogue includes detailed drawing, specification, performance and application information enabling full use of the catalogue as a design and specification aid.

Application advice and assistance is also available from Robert Cupitt.
