Transducers provide micron-level repeatability

A RDP Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 17, 2003

RDP Electronics reckons it can provide solutions to nearly all gauging sensor requirements with its D5-G range of miniature LVDTs.

Industrial measurement environments rarely match those of the laboratory, and demands on accurate transducers in normal working conditions can be severe.

RDP Electronics can provide solutions to nearly all gauging sensor requirements with its D5-G range of miniature LVDTs.

Housed in a robust stainless steel case, these transducers provide excellent magnetic screening and easy mounting.

Available in working ranges from +/-0.25 to +/-12.7mm, each transducer in the D5-G series has an encapsulated winding with magnetic shielding.

The ruggedised construction, low-friction bearing and ball-ended probes have been specifically designed for accuracy.

They can provide a repeatability of less than a micron with good linearity.

Additionally, the D5-G series can be supplied in special versions, for example to operate in environments exposed to gamma radiation or high-pressure nonconducting oil.
