Small sensor promises long life

A RDP Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 30, 2007

Unguided LVDT suits applications where space is restricted and micron accuracy is required.

The latest unguided linear displacement transducer from RDP Electronics is ideal for gauging and positioning applications where space is restricted and micron accuracy is required.

Using the well-proven linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) principle delivering infinite resolution with absolute measurement, it provides accurate information over its linear range of 1.3mm.

It is robust and reliable and thanks to the LVDT principle where there is no electrical contact across the transducer positioning element, and so it enjoys a long and trouble-free life.

Manufactured from stainless steel, the D5/25HK is just one of a family of miniature displacement transducers which used in conjunction with the RDP range of signal conditioning offer excellent solutions for closed loop and measurement applications.
