Hot stuff: transducers measure in autoclaves

A RDP Electronics product story

Special version of the LIN transducer is suitable for submersion and capable of working at temperatures up to 450C and pressures of 200bar.

RDP Electronics has developed a special version of its well-proven LIN series of displacement transducers, designed to withstand the extreme operating environment experienced in autoclaves.

Working in collaboration with a major research institute, RDP has developed a special version of the LIN transducer suitable for submersion and capable of working at temperatures up to 450C and pressures of 200bar.

The LIN transducer offers infinite resolution and allows highly accurate measurement of displacement or position by determining armature movement relative to the body.

Being an inductive transducer, there is no contact across the sensor element and thanks to its welded stainless steel construction it is a very robust device with a high cycle life.

It is well suited to operation in the elevated pressure and temperature conditions of autoclaves.

The standard range of LIN transducers are available for measurement ranges from +/-5 to +/-25mm and as well as withstanding extreme high and low temperatures are also suitable for environments subject to exposure to radiation.

Transducers are available as unguided or spring-return versions.
