RDP offers signal conditioning systems

A RDP Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 3, 2009

RDP Electronics can provide a range of signal conditioning systems, including panel and Din-mounted options for applications using multiple transducers.

Where there are a number of transducers in close proximity, a more economic and space-efficient solution can usually be achieved by selecting either the RDP Modular 600 or DR7 Din-rail options, rather than using several individual devices.

The Modular 600 is a fully featured microprocessor instrumentation system, which also incorporates configurable analogue outputs.

Its modular design concept, based on the standard Eurocard format, can accept inputs from up to 164 channels in either free standing or rack form.

It can be tailored to measure most engineering parameters including displacement, pressure, load/force, strain, torque and vibration utilising a range of signal conditioning modules suitable for LVDTs, load cells and strain gauges.

The DR7 series comprises fully isolated Din-rail mounted, DC-powered amplifiers designed for simple integration into industrial systems, avoiding potential earth loop noise problems, and are fully compliant with European Directives and regulations for EMC and electrical safety.

The DR7DC strain gauge transducer amplifier and DR7AC LVDT transducer amplifiers can be installed in suitable cabinets along with other similar devices.

To reduce electrical noise, system problems and the risk of accidental damage the DR7 has full isolation between supply and output.

A wide supply voltage tolerance and selectable excitation ensure that the DR7 is compatible with a very wide selection of transducers and applications.

Further information and guidance on specifying signal conditioning amplifiers can be obtained from the RDP engineering support team.
