Mechatronic innovation in motion control for airborne applications firm awarded certification to AS9100, the international aerospace quality standard based on ISO9001-2000.

Reliance Precision has been awarded certification to AS9100, the international aerospace quality standard based on ISO9001-2000, but with additional requirements to provide the rigorous controls required by the aerospace industry.

Reliance has a history of mechatronic innovation in motion control for airborne applications and is committed to meeting the requirements of the aerospace industry.

The firm has added this aerospace quality assurance certification to its growing list of compliance standards which already includes quality management certification to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and environmental management certification to BS EN ISO 14001:2004.

Through continuous improvement of all processes and the application of the latest techniques in precision mechanical engineering and electronic control, Reliance produces high integrity, robust, electromechanical assemblies and systems with predictable performance.

Units are individually designed to meet customer requirements for high accuracy position measurement and feedback.

The firm offers selected customers a specialised and dedicated department for testing, developing and rapid manufacture of new designs.

Prototypes are produced directly in metal enabling Reliance to perform functional testing immediately thereby reducing time to market.

Much of the company's assembly work takes place in its cleanroom classified at ISO 14644-1 class ISO 7 (Federal Standard 209D, class 10,000).
