Sir David also noted that progress continues with the preparation of Renishaw's new property in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, for the move of the manufacturing facility from its New Mills site.

The Stonehouse facility will be fully operational by the end of March 2006.

Shareholders were also updated about a number of new products that have been introduced at recent exhibitions, in particular, at EMO Hannover held in September.

The new Gyro range of infinite positioning measuring heads for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs), which complement Revo and Renscan5 products introduced in April this year, were very well received.

Also introduced at EMO Hannover were the OMP400 high accuracy strain gauge touch probe and on-machine verification software launched as part of Renishaw's machine tool product line.

Recent investments were also discussed by Sir David, who reported that Renishaw had recently acquired a 50% interest in Pulseteq, a small UK company, specialising in radio frequency coil electronics and other enhancements to magnetic resonance scanners.

He stated that the investment illustrated Renishaw's intention to undertake further investigations and exploit opportunities in the medical field by applying its in-house metrology expertise.

Additionally Renishaw has acquired a 50% interest in Metrology Software Products, another small UK-based company, to strengthen the software development programmes for the CMM and machine tool product lines.

It was also explained how Renishaw's annual accounts for the year ended 30th June 2005 have been restated under the International Financial Reporting Standards and are now available on Renishaw's main website.
