Sustainable manufacturing in the 21st century
Renishaw will again be lead sponsor for this year's MWP Summit conference being held at the Rolls Royce Learning and Development Centre in Derby, UK, on Thursday 29th March 2007.
World leading metrology company Renishaw will again be lead sponsor for this year's MWP Summit conference being held at the Rolls Royce Learning and Development Centre in Derby, UK, on Thursday 29th March 2007.
Running under the title of "Sustainable manufacturing in the 21st century", this one-day conference and networking event is designed to appeal to directors and managers of engineering companies who want advance intelligence on the key issues and challenges they will face in the next five years.
Topics will deal with issues such as the opportunities and threats posed by new technology, practical ways to improve production efficiency, advice on health, safety and environmental issues including WEEE compliance, employee protection and motivation, and the stimulation of strategies for engaging with global market developments.
The programme has been created by the respected engineering journals MWP and The Engineer, and will feature top level speakers from SMEs, OEMs, R and D organisations and business advisers, including Rolls Royce, The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Cobra UK, Envirowise, Omega Plastics, Schaeffler UK and the Association of Manufacturing Excellence.
A welcome address will be given by Renishaw's Chairman and Chief Executive, Sir David McMurtry, who will outline why his company supports sustainable manufacturing.
Renishaw continues to carry out the majority of its manufacturing within the UK, and has recently announced large investments in a new machine shop facility in Gloucestershire.
An important part of the day will also be the opportunity for delegates to network with like-minded engineering professionals, who share similar issues and challenges, opening up the possibility of future knowledge sharing and partnerships.
An added attraction for delegates will be the unique opportunity to view the Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust Exhibition, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Rolls-Royce's history and engineering pedigree.
The exhibition is housed within the Learning and Development Centre, a modern, purpose-built venue, superbly equipped for conferences, and located alongside Rolls-Royce's world leading facilities for aero-engine design, development and manufacture.
As well as main sponsor Renishaw, the "Sustainable manufacturing in the 21st century" conference is also being sponsored by ATI Stellram, Ceratizit, CG Tech, Delcam, Hardinge-Bridgeport, Hexagon Metrology, Kasto and Mori Seiki.
