Renishaw has recently received a positive mention in a speech given by Ian Pearson, UK Minister of State for Science and Innovation.

Renishaw received a positive mention in a speech given on 14th February by Ian Pearson, UK Minister of State for Science and Innovation At a meeting of the Technology Strategy Board, Pearson spoke about the importance of manufacturing to the UK economy, which provides around 3 million jobs, comprises over half of all exports, and despite popular perceptions, is in fact the world's sixth largest manufacturing economy

He then highlighted how manufacturing is changing, and that by looking at how particular companies have evolved over the years, that it is possible to build up a picture of how the industry as a whole has evolved.

He explained: "Take Renishaw, who I visited at the EMO machine tool exhibition in Hanover, two years ago".

"Based in Gloucestershire, they produce measuring tools".

"Their continued success comes from combining high quality manufacturing, and local customer support in markets around the globe".

"The company's first product, a touch-trigger probe, solved a specific inspection requirement for engines used on Concorde".

"Thirty years on Renishaw is leading another measurement revolution with scanning systems on co-ordinate measuring machines".

"This expertise in precision manufacturing has already influenced the dental market and the way tooth restorations are carried out".

"Their heavy investment in R and D has paid off and allowed them to become a global leader in metrology".

Reacting to the speech, Ben Taylor, Renishaw's Assistant Chief Executive said: "Innovation is at the heart of everything that we do as a business, from the products that we produce, the processes used in their development and manufacture, to the way that we service our customers".

"Therefore to receive recognition from the Government Minister responsible for driving innovation within UK industry is especially gratifying". Request free introductory details about products from Renishaw ...
