Chain supplied over 13 years ago to British Aerospace for use on its Harrier Jump Jets has been found to be in near perfect condition by engineers at Renold Chain.
The half-inch pitch chain, used on a structural part of the aircraft was found to have no measurable wear.
Renold stated that the chain' s excellent wear performance was due to an efficient lubrication regime at British Aerospace, which had contributed to the overall life of the chain.
