A breathtaking new leisure ride, recently unveiled by Thorpe Park in Surrey, UK, is driven by chain supplied by British manufacturer, Renold.

The new ride, aptly named Colossus, is the world's first ten-loop roller coaster which, says theme park owner, The Tussauds Group, will give passengers "The ride of their lives".

Renold supplied 120.9mm, straight-sided chain, through its Swiss sales office to the ride's manufacturer, Intermin.

With a long track record supplying chain to the leisure industry Renold has demonstrated its expertise in this sector by producing a comprehensive brochure specifically for this market.

Renold's innovative approach to chain design has also led to the development of Smartlink, a unique data-logging device for detecting potential problems within chain-driven systems such as roller coaster rides.
