Scandinavia's largest manufacturer of metal packaging for the food and drink industry has reported a significant reduction in downtime following its trials of Renold Synergy chain.

Glud and Marstrand, Scandinavia's largest manufacturer of metal packaging for the food and drink industry, has reported a significant reduction in downtime following its trials of Renold Synergy chain.

The company had encountered problems with the chain fitted on its production machinery lasting no more than three weeks, due to harsh operating conditions.

The chain is required to run at high speed, endure high temperatures and run without lubrication to avoid any possible contamination of packaging products for the food industry.

Since fitting Renold Synergy the working life has been extended almost four times to 11 weeks, cutting downtime by almost 25%.
