Innovative polymer block chain from Renold has been installed by Panasonic at its distribution centre in Northampton, to handle a wide variety of products from DVD players to televisions.

The unique design of Renold's Klik-Top chain enables individual polymer blocks to be replaced quickly and easily with a simple click-off and click-on action.

The clever design saves hours of machine downtime as the chain does not need to be removed and dismantled when worn or damaged blocks need to be replaced.

Working in tandem with the 0.5in simplex Klik-Top chain is the new, high performance Renold Synergy transmission chain, which in 0.625in duplex form is responsible for moving products from the storage to despatch areas.

Steve Noble of Morris Material Handling, the company responsible for carrying out maintenance at the site, said the ease with which the Klik-Top chain could be installed and maintained was a major factor in its specification for this application.
