The special effects team at Pinewood Studios, in London, has chosen Renold Synergy chain in the construction of a special effects mechanism in a major Hollywood blockbuster.

The special effects team at Pinewood Studios, in London, has chosen Renold Synergy chain in the construction of a special effects mechanism in a major Hollywood blockbuster.

In one of the scenes, shot at the world famous studios, a boat sails down an artificial river propelled, apparently, by the flow of the river alone.

In fact, the glass-fibre boat sits upon a bogey to which a motor and sprocket is mounted.

The sprocket drives the boat by following a length of Synergy chain, with K1 attachments, secured to an I-beam just beneath the surface of the river.

The Pinewood team, working in the same studio where they filmed the James Bond action scenes, chose Synergy because of its reliability and Renold's Rapid Response service, which enabled them to get their adapted chain within two days of placing their order.
