A snack food manufacturer has drastically reduced maintenance on one of its most arduous applications following the installation of Renold Syno lubrication free chain The company, which manufactures burgers, sandwich fillings and various other snack foods, had to make adjustments to the chain on a regular basis due to elongation caused by premature wear

Another problem was being caused by lubricant dripping onto electrical switches underneath the chain and causing damage.

The switches cost GBP 200 each and were having to be replaced every two to three months.

The equipment had to be frequently shut down either to adjust the chain or to replace the switches, which is a lengthy maintenance procedure that resulted in costly downtime.

Since replacing the previous chain with Renold Syno lubrication free chain, seven months ago, no maintenance whatsoever has been required.
