Machined springs overcome wound limitations
For those engineers familiar with the traditional wound spring format, Abssac is offering a new way of looking at reliability, performance and attachment by use of a machined spring.
Electrodeposited metal bellows come to the UK
Abssac now supports the full range of unique electrodeposited metal bellows and electroformed products available from the Servometer Corp as its newly appointed sole UK distributor.
Its novel design also simplifies the connection of varying internal and external pipe sizes.
The Redman coupler is quick and simple to fit in any weather conditions, and is equally effective under water or with liquid still in the pipes.
The joint has successfully achieved Type 1 approval in Water Industry Standard tests.
The pipes need no special preparation before fitting the Redman Coupler.
Operators need minimal training, capital investment is low - in the region of £300 - and one man can effect a lasting joint in just one minute.
The two piece joint system comprises a steel insert, which is placed inside the bore of the pipe.
A protected mild steel outer casing, lined with copper, slides onto the outside of the pipe.
The second pipe fits snugly between the outer and inner sections of the Redman joint.
Once the pieces are in place, the operator attaches a hydraulic handgun to a nipple on the outer sleeve.
Grease is hydraulically pumped into the sealed space between the copper and mild steel layers.
This deforms the copper and the powerful clamp action guarantees the seal within the joint.
The Redman Coupler is ideal for a variety of applications, ranging from the traditional utilities through to the military and petrochemical industries, both in the UK and overseas.
