Convert different signals to Modbus
Red Lion's new IAMS3535 accepts a wide range of DC analog process signals and converting them into a register format that can be read using Modbus ASCII or RTU protocols.
A major problem in monitoring an entire process from one PC is that there are many applications which require the handling of numerous types of analogue signal from a variety of sensors Red Lion's new IAMS3535 Smart Analogue to Modbus Conditioner with integrated Alarms module easily solves this problem by accepting a wide range of DC analog process signals and converting them into a register format that can be read using Modbus ASCII or RTU protocols

Product upgrade eases remote monitoring
BACnet support allows Red Lion Controls products to provide complete system integration and data transfer from any industrial protocol to and from BACnet.
The IAMS has eighteen different DC analogue input ranges which determine the input span and type, up to a maximum of 110 VDC and 110 mA DC.
With the features of gain and offset, the input signal can be scaled to meet process requirements.
Additionally, two setpoint values with hysteresis can be entered for dual relay process monitoring alarms at the point of measurement, to reduce wire run length.
An RS485 port allows signals to be transmitted reliably over distances of up to 4,000 ft and allows over 200 units to be monitored over a single cable.
The Four way isolation-input, relays, serial port and power connections are isolated to 1500V to prevent ground loops and noise interference.
The IAMS can easily be connected to Red Lion's Operator Interface Panels or its unique Babel Box, which then enables the data transfer between the IAMS and PLC data registers.
This feature is particularly suited to increasing the I/O capacity of basic PLCs without the necessity of installing more I/O cards.
Alternatively, the Operator Interface and IAMS can be configured to become an intelligent process monitoring instrument, with alarm event recording, process mimic displays, and used for multi-trace trending and floating point math calculations (depending on HMI model).
The IAMS is programmed with Windows based SFIMS software which allows easy configuration, calibration, editing, storage and downloading of IAMS program files.
Additionally, all setup parameters can be interrogated and modified through Modbus register and coil commands.
High-density packaging and DIN rail mounting saves installation time and panel space.
The IAMS is also equipped with a universal mounting foot for attachment to standard DIN style rails, including top hat profile, according to EN50022-35x7.5, and 35 x 15 mm G profile rail according to EN:5035-G32.
