PID controllers look good value
Red Lion Controls has introduced two new 1/16 DIN PID controllers which offer high functionality at low cost: the T16 temperature controller and the P16 process controller.
The two time-proportioning or DC analogue outputs can be programmed to control two independent processes and the two alarms per channel can be configured for various alarm modes, or provide a secondary control output for heat/cool applications.
The controller operates in the PID Control mode for both heating and cooling, with on-demand auto-tune that establishes the tuning constants.
The PID tuning constants may be fine tuned through the serial interface.
A unique overshoot suppression feature, allows for the quickest of response times without leading to excessive overshoot.
The controller can be transferred to operate in the Manual Mode, providing the operator with direct control of the output, or the On/Off Control mode with adjustable hysterisis.
Communication is provided via an RS485 Port with a dual RJ11 connector which supports MODBUS RTU and ASCII protocols.
As a result, the DLC can be easily integrated into virtually any PC-based SCADA system or used with many MODBUS compatible Operator Panels as an interface, such as the Paradigm range of HMIs, to provide alarm and event logging, recipe handling, modem access and trending.
Configuration is via Red Lion's RLCPro Windows-based software package which provides a quick and easy way to configure one, or multiple, DLCs for any application.
High density packaging and DIN rail mounting saves both time and panel space with the controller snapping easily onto standard top Hat (T) profile DIN rails.
