For high level performance from an operator terminal, at prices far below that of a SCADA package, Red Lion's GL300T Paradigm Monochrome Touchscreen fits the bill.
The GL300T operates with Red Lion's easy to use EDICT97 software which allows users to get challenging applications up and running quickly and without the cost of any additional devices.
The GL300T is capable of powerful data manipulation, including 32-bit maths functions.
Values can be scaled averages and signal linearisation can be carried out on inputs from non-linear sensors.
Optional user programs can be run using C-type language syntax for an infinite number of applications.
With its large memory GL300T can run event logs, which include date and time stamped records of plant activity, as well as complete alarm histories.
An added bonus is that large numbers of complex recipes can be stored in the panel much more economically than in a PLC.
As well as having a clear 256 by 128 pixel LCD, permanent records can be sent to an attached printer using the full-page report generator facility.
The GL300T can be connected to a wide variety of serial devices and can communicate simultaneously with a PLC on one port and Red Lion instruments, or other intelligent devices, on another port.
Modem support allows systems to communicate around the world through the operator interface.
Program downloads are very quick and, when developing applications, only the changes are downloaded saving further time.
The high quality graphical display supports object oriented graphics and bit maps, which allow plant functions to be mimicked.
A resistive touch screen layer, with 200 x 200 touch cells, provides an intuitive interface with animated graphic objects on the screen.
GL300T is robustly constructed for an industrial environment and has a metal enclosure with a non-corroding NEMA 4/IP65 front panel.
