The new CL01 operator terminal from Red Lion is an inexpensive and simple man machine interface that is ideal for use with PLCs, enabling powerful control systems at a competitive price.
The new CL01 operator terminal from Red Lion is an inexpensive and simple man machine interface that is ideal for use with PLCs, enabling powerful control systems at a competitive price.
The display is an easily read backlit LCD with 2 x 20 characters.
The numeric keypad is supplemented by keys for exiting the program mode, calling up the programming menu, raising and lowering displayed values, muting sound and scrolling to the next or previous screen.
Additionally there are three programmable soft keys.
The microprocessor at the heart of the display is a 16-bit Intel device with Watch Dog protection.
64k battery backed RAM is standard and the real time clock, with an accuracy of 0.01%, is also battery backed.
Connection is via RS232 or RS485 serial ports for PLC connection and there is an additional RS232 port for a printer or modem.
Packaged with the CL01 is Red Lion's proprietary EDICT 97 software, a revolutionary package that enables the user to configure every aspect of the terminal's behaviour.
One of the innovative features of EDICT 97 is that the software enables the interface to perform all decision making, thus saving on PLC memory and time consuming ladder programming.
EDICT 97 contains a 500 point alarm scanner, real time scheduler and a comprehensive trending package, which enables even the simplest controller to have analysis features at the terminal or to be viewed remotely via a standard PC.
Over 80 communication protocols are provided as standard, allowing connection with almost any PC.
Constructed with an IP65 (NEMA 4) rating from the front panel, the Paradigm CL01 meets the needs of most machine or control systems builders.
The environmental temperature rating is 0-40øC and humidity range is 20-80% relative humidity (non-condensing).
The unit measures just 170mm long x 130mm high x 56mm deep.
