Red Lion Controls has introduced the ICM8 Communication Gateway module as a cost effective way to implement online data monitoring of Red Lion temperature controllers and PAX Series panel meters

ICM8 offers RS232 and RS485 serial ports and a 10 Base-T/100 Ethernet port, and is an inexpensive alternative to proprietary COMMS cards.

The ICM8 enables monitoring of multiple disparate devices and performs conversions of numerous protocols simultaneously via an extensive built-in driver list.

This allows easy data mapping to PLCs, PCs and SCADA systems.

According to Red Lion Product Manager, Jeff Thornton, "The ICM8 is a perfect solution for engineers who are looking for an inexpensive solution for Ethernet enabling their installed base of Red Lion temperature control and PAX Panel Meter products".

The ICM8 features a durable construction made of high impact plastic and stainless steel and easily snaps onto standard DIN style top hat (T) profile mounting rails.

Bright green, yellow, red and amber solid or flashing LEDs provide indication of operating condition, including general condition status, transmit/receive serial activity and Ethernet link and activity.

In addition, the ICM8 offers four megabytes of non volatile Flash memory and two megabytes of SDRAM.

Programming is made simple via the RS232 or USB port using Windows(r) compatible Crimson 2 software that features an easy to use graphical interface.

Crimson 2 can be ordered on CD as part of a kit that also includes a manual and cables, or downloaded free of charge.
