Red Lion Controls announces native tag support of Allen Bradley's Logix series PLCs

Users can now easily integrate Red Lion's G3 series HMI, Modular Controller and Data Station products with the ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs, via serial or Ethernet.

"With native tag support, users won't have to duplicate their efforts in regard to tag creation", said Jesse Benefiel, Product Manager for Red Lion.

"Red Lion's support of this protocol means that users won't be forced to alias their tags, saving considerable programming time".

The PLC's tags are simply exported as a CSV file from Allen Bradley's RSLogix 5000 software, and then imported into Red Lion's Crimson 2.0 software.

A simple click of a button automatically creates matching tags within Crimson.

A tool is also provided which allows PLC tags to be generated within Crimson, thus avoiding the import process for the addition of subsequent PLC tags.

With the powerful protocol conversion facility embedded in all G3 operator interfaces, Data Station Plus and Modular Controller (Enhanced Master) products, combined with the standard offering of three serial ports and a multiple protocol Ethernet port, users can realise complete system integration and data transfer with other PLCs, drives or other hardware.
