Output module designed for controller

A Red Lion Controls product story

CSOUT modules feature four isolated, fully scalable outputs that are software configured and can be used in conjunction with any of Red Lion's CS series modules

Red Lion Controls has released the CSOUT high-density analogue output module for Red Lion's Modular Controller series.

The Modular Controller series is a cost-effective, easy to use multi-zone PID control and data acquisition platform with built-in data logger and web server.

The CSOUT modules feature four isolated, fully scalable outputs that are software configured and can be used in conjunction with any of Red Lion's CS series modules.

CSOUT module outputs are simple to configure and independently programmable for output ranges of 0-5V, 0-10V, +/-10V, 0-20mA, or 4-20mA.

Configuration information is stored within the Modular Controller Master module to ensure that modules can be "hot swapped" without requiring reconfiguration.

In addition, the Modular Controller features an extensive menu of built-in serial and Ethernet drivers allowing users to quickly map I/O points to PLC registers by dragging the I/O to the desired PLC register.

With a backplane connection to Red Lion's CSMSTR Modular Controller series Master, CSOUT modules connect and communicate with PCs, PLCs and Scada systems, with each Master supporting up to 16 modules.

Each module features auto addressing to minimise configuration time, and with internal power management circuits, the modules can be replaced while power is applied, minimising downtime.

The backplane connectors deliver power to the CSOUT modules and can snap easily onto standard top hat (T) profile DIN-rails.

CSOUT modules deliver a space saving, cost-effective solution to integrating multi-zone PID control, data acquisition and I/O into a PC, DCS or PLC control system.

The Red Lion Modular Controller series is the only multi-zone PID and data acquisition platform that can communicate simultaneously with multiple serial and Ethernet devices.

"With a selection of over 100 protocols, the Modular Controller can act not only as a slave device-it can also act as a master".

"This allows the Modular Controller to manage the movement of data, thereby removing the burden our customers typically face when attempting to get their PLC to collect data".

"The CSOUT is an exceptional new addition to this product line", said Jesse Benefiel, Product Manager.

"Each of the CSOUT module's four outputs can be individually configured and scaled to provide a solution flexible enough to accommodate virtually any control application".

"The module's outputs can be controlled via any external device or directly by the Modular Controller series Master, adding further flexibility".

Using the Enhanced Master, the Modular Controller also offers IT ready data logging and web server capabilities.

Process surveillance and preventive maintenance solutions are now easily integrated.

With the embedded web server's "virtual HMI", users can access and control their process using common internet browsers, negating the need for expensive Scada software.

The Modular Controller features built-in PLC and Ethernet protocols, making configuration time a matter of minutes, even for the largest, most complex PID, data acquisition or I/O systems.

In addition, the Modular Controller series is easily configured with Red Lion's robust Crimson software, provided at no charge, for communication configuration and system calibration.
