New launches at Inspex exhbibition in
October
Latest reports are coming in from the companies which are exhibiting at this year's Inspex metrology, testing, inspection and quality management Exhibition, the largest of its kind in the UK
Latest reports from the companies which are exhibiting at this year's Inspex Exhibition demonstrate clearly that this event, the largest of its kind in the UK, is widely accepted as offering an unbeatable opportunity for launching new products and services in the metrology, testing, inspection and quality management sectors The show runs from 30th October to 1st November in Hall 8 at the NEC, and these are just a small selection of the companies which will be using it to give their latest offerings a head start in the UK marketplace

Jeol (UK) Limited (Stand 8490) is one of the market leaders in the manufacture of scientific and analytical equipment, with a product portfolio which includes electron microscopes, mass spectrometers and surface analysis instrumentation.
At Inspex, the company will be launching its new JSM5510 low-vacuum analytical scanning electron microscope, which is equipped with energy dispersive micro-analysis.
This entry-level instrument is ideal for use in quality assurance and failure analysis environments.
Wenzel UK Limited (Stand 8320) is a subsidiary of Wenzel Pr?zision GmbH which manufactures an extensive range of co-ordinate measuring equipment, including small, medium and large bridge machines, as well as single- and multi-arm horizontal arm machines.
The company's major introduction at Inspex is its latest co-ordinate measuring software package, the Wenzel Virtual Machine off-line programming system.

Taylor Hobson Limited (Stand 8530) provides on-site calibration services to UKAS standards, as well as manufacturing surface finish, roundness, form, levelling and alignment measuring instruments.
Taylor Hobson has selected Inspex for the re-launch of the Talyrand 265, a modular mid-range roundness measuring instrument.
It will also be demonstrating its new Windows-based Ultra Roundness software, a package which fully integrates the control, calibration and measurement functions in Taylor Hobson roundness instruments.
Scantron (Stand 8380) is a specialist in non-contact dimensional measurement, and offers a wide range of equipment for accurate, non-invasive diameter, speed, length, distance and profile measurement.
Scantron will be using Inspex to launch the brand new Proscan 500 3D surface profilometer.
This new introduction complements the existing Proscan range, and offers, the company claims, unprecedented surface profiling speed and accuracy at an affordable price.
Scantron is also holding an on-stand promotional competition which gives visitors a chance to win a mystery prize.
Quality Control Technology (Stand 8263) is primarily a service company for co-ordinate measuring machine users.
It offers calibration, repair and spares, as well as its own proprietary software packages for geometric measurement and CAD model comparison.
At Inspex, Quality Control Technology is introducing the Quantum, a new co-ordinate measuring machine, the design and manufacture of which is based on the company's wealth of experience in this field.
Mecmesin Limited (Stand 8105) designs and manufactures force and torque testing equipment and has a range that embraces gauges, smart sensors, manually operated test stands and computer-controlled bench-top motorised systems.
Visitors to Inspex will have the opportunity to see, for the first time, the new Mecmesin range of budget-priced Imperial-class motorised test beds.
These are controlled by Emperor, a new Windows-based testing software package for the mechanical evaluation of manufactured products, components and materials.
Measurement Solutions Limited (Stand 8360) is a specialist in the supply of solutions for co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) and statistical process control (SPC) applications.
The company is showcasing two new software products at this year's Inspex - QS-Stat 2000, an all-new 32-bit version of the automotive industry SPC standard, and Metrolog II Simulation, a complete off-line CMM program package.
Marposs Limited (Stand 8230), a worldwide supplier of electronic gauging and inspection systems, has products which range from machine tool in-process measurement equipment to simple hand-held bore and outside diameter gauges.
Marposs has chosen Inspex as the launch platform for the new Quick SPC for Windows software, a powerful SPC and measurement management package which has been designed and developed in conjunction with some of the world's major manufacturers.
The companies and product launches mentioned here provide no more than a taste of what will be on show at Inspex, which is, without doubt, the UK's largest and most important exhibition for the measurement and quality assurance sector.
More information about developments and product launches at Inspex will be provided between now and the opening of the show but, remember, the only way to find out everything that's on offer is to be there! Inspex 2001 is co-located with Manufacturing Week, which is, this year, made up of four highly focussed exhibitions: The Design Engineering Show; Drives, Motors and Controls; Automation; and Production.
Manufacturing Week and Inspex run concurrently from 30th October to 1st November, in Hall 19 and Hall 8 respectively at the National Exhibition Centre, the UK's most convenient and accessible venue, and they are supported by an extensive programme of seminars.
